Volunteers are essential to the life and mission of the Marian Shrine of Our Lady of Schoenstatt. If you are interested in assisting pilgrims and visitors or assisting from behind the scenes at the Shrine, and nourishing one’s spiritual life, please consider becoming a volunteer.
We are seeking volunteers in a variety of areas, especially:
Hospitality Team Volunteers
The Hospitality Team is responsible for providing a truly hospitable and welcoming atmosphere for all Masses, liturgies and celebrations at the Shrine and special events held at the Movement House. Training is offered and required.
Guardians are special members of the hospitality team and are responsible for making visitors and pilgrims feel not just like a welcomed guest, but a family member coming home.
The Guardians are called to:
a. Serve the Shrine with their time by keeping it open during hours of operation
b. Welcome the pilgrimages and the individual pilgrims
c. Act as caretakers in the Shrine; visible presence to those who visit
We invite you to consider helping Blessed Mother to keep her Shrine open by volunteering as a Shrine Guardian. You can sign up for as many hours and days as you can generously give. Training is offered and required.

The Pastoral Committee Volunteers
The Pastoral Committee oversees all the celebrations at the Shrine. The following teams are part of making celebrations at the Shrine possible and a beautiful moment of encounter. Please consider volunteering your time and talents on one of the teams listed.
The liturgy team is made of volunteers who collaborate to facilitate the liturgy for each Mass or liturgical celebration. Members work in advance to prepare the different celebrations for each liturgical season. Lectors, Extraordinary ministers of communion and ushers are needed. Training is offered and required.
The sacristy teams prepares the shrine for Masses and other liturgical celebrations. They are responsible for light cleaning, polishing brass, setting up and maintaining the sacristy. Training is offered and required.
The flowers are a very important component of a Schoenstatt shrine since through them we create a Marian atmosphere. The flower guild consists of volunteers who create and maintain the weekly floral arrangements that beautify our shrine. Training is offered and required.
The Music team ensures that the process of music preparation for weekly and special liturgies is carefully done. The music enables the pilgrim to connect with the supernatural reality of Mass and other liturgical celebrations. It is important that the music transmit the sense of sacredness and the uniqueness of this place as a Schoenstatt and Marian place. Attendance at weekly rehearsal is required. Vocal and instrumental volunteers are needed.
To volunteer for one of these areas, please contact the Pastoral Committee Coordinator, J

Communication and Fundraising Team

The Shrine is completely funded through generous donation from pilgrims and visitors. We do not receive an outside funding. Volunteers are needed in all areas of fundraising such as stewardship, donor relations, special events, and database management.
